We use should or shouldn’t to give advice, a recommendation or a suggestion.
Examples:
- You should see the new Star Wars movie. It’s great!
- He should go to the dentist if his tooth still hurts.
- The test is next week. We should study for it now.
- You should try that new restaurant on Main Street.
- You shouldn’t run in the halls.
- You shouldn’t shout in the library.
- You shouldn’t go to bed late.
